I Create. What About You?

Some days I can’t find the creative spirit within me. These are also the days when I hold back my nurturing nature. I don’t want to “do” just to do. Or write without inspiration to fill space. Or serve without purpose just to check it off.

I may be distracted by the world around me. I may be focused on someone else’s goals instead of my own. I may be moving from one area of influence to another. When that happens, I retreat to my own pondering and do not share as much—until I rediscover the light I’m seeking.

My friend noticed and asked me about it. Don’t worry, I said to her. You may have noticed my fewer blog posts lately. Keep coming back, I say to you. I’m finding the light I need to create, but sometimes, it’s just for me. Until it’s time to share.

This video turned me back to my motto for the year. Watch it. It will inspire you to create, too.

Now, I’m ready with a refined focus in life, writing and my website.  Do you want to see what I’ve been doing?  Take a look at my pages across the top. These four categories—Creativity, Nurturing, Pondering and Spirituality—exemplify the spirit within me. Some days I express these characteristics in my actions, my writing, my words, my life. And other days I don’t.

But every day is a new day to create, looking toward some day when my creation is complete.

Thank you to Michelle L for posting this at Segullah and encouraging us to share.

Thanks for sharing that video-I hadn’t seen it but I do remember those words. I cried then and I’m crying again hearing them. I love your blog-I’ll be back!

I love the simplicity behind this post. I feel like every day I need to refine my focus and make sure I am accomplishing the mission in life I am supposed to be accomplishing.
