My son is 16!
It’s a big birthday. He tests for his license next week. He’s looking for a job. And now he can date.
We’re Mormon, and we set some relationship guidelines for our teens—dating begins at 16.
We hit this milestone with his older sister several years ago. But somehow, with a boy, it’s different. As archaic as this sounds, we still have an expectation, as do the girls around him, that he will take some initiative.
He feels the pressure, so I’ve toned down my advice. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love it when his sister does it for me.
Here’s a funny and fun video of dating advice for my son that she and her friends made at BYU.
